HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!
I am sure my mom will be all too pleased with this post.
I never understood any of the things my mom talked about when I was growing up until I became a mom. To this day... I still think I don't know shit, as she used to say to me. My mom molded me into who I am and how I am. Some days I am better than others because of how she raised me. Some days I suck, but she taught me to learn from those mistakes and move forward and be a better person for it.
My mom is the nuttiest, funniest, biggest drama creator, silliest, best MOM I could have ever asked for. Growing up, I traveled a lot with her. We shopped together, she went to every single one of my softball games...didn't matter what state they were in, she took me to many physical therapy appointments because of those softball games, she was in the delivery room for two of three of my babies births, she bailed me out of some pretty interesting situations, she cheered me on through two police academies, she held my hand and washed my hair after my motorcycle wreck, she yelled at me to keep pushing through hours of physical therapy to learn to walk again after that same wreck, and she continues to keep teaching me things everyday!
There was never a time when I was growing up that my mom was not my friend. Don't get me wrong..... there was always that fine line one must live by as a parent, but my mom was really cool. She knew we (mostly we means my sister because I was the GOOD kid) were up to bad things at times...she ignored the parties we tried to hide when she and dad were out of town and she just shook her head, but didn't pass judgement, when I was, once again, "IN LOVE."
I absolutely love my mom. I am constantly reminded, by her, that we can't change her bad habits so why even try. She is set in stone when it comes to ideas, beliefs and habits. And that is fine with us because we love you just the same no matter what! So...onto a wonderful birthday weekend! We are so excited for Saturday!!
