must come to an end.
Admittedly, I am actually sad to see our summer come to an end. This past weekend and week have been extremely trying on the crumb-snatchers but other than those few days, we had a super-fan-tabulous kind of summer. It, by far, has been our best ever!!!!
On Saturday night, we took the kids to Valle Luna, for Mexican food, for dinner. During their "I must act like the worlds worst children moments (ahem, Brinkley and Justice)," we discussed what we did this summer and recapped all our fun moments.
1. The day after school got out we headed north for Jerome. Haunted hotels and history made for an exciting 3 fun-filled days.
2. Denstist visits were for the entire family and Brinkley had her first molar pulled!
3. Venturing out to go see the movie, "UP," was the best decision Pudgie ever made!!
4. Jax and I decided to visit the emergency room late one night. He had a 104.7 fever becasue of his dang tonsils.
5. We added two little girlie girl cousins to this house for 5 days and hit the little water park, the regular park, swam, ate tons of ice cream and laughed until milk came out of some noses, some nights!
7. Finding your freezer in your garage has been left open for days on end could ruin anyone's week. Not mine though.... warranty paid for the food and bought me a new freezer and refrigerator to boot! Thank you again Jax.
8. A surprise trip to Big Surf was a hit since they didn't have to wait for the end of summer to go there.
9. Jax had his tonsils taken out and had a hard two weeks following the surgery.
10. Brinkley spent 8 days away from home during Jax's recovery. She had a blast!
11. Just in the nick of time, Jax was well enough to visit Grammie Alkire to explore all her land and spend a few days with her right before Sea World and the beach beckoned our names. We were off for a few adventure filled days.
12. School clothes and supply shopping filled a few of my days.
13. My never ending birthday celebration! Wet~n~ Wild, Valle Luna, and anything else my heart desired was right in front of me!
All in all I think the munchies had a great summer.
Brinkley was anxious to return to school since she had the same teacher she had in kindergarten (but that is a huge mess of a story). Jax was reluctant because his teacher was new to 4th grade but had been teaching kindergarten. As you can tell, I am getting used to the whole school thing because this year, there were no pictures. I didn't need for daddy to get off work early to be here and walk with us. I just walked them to their lines and left for the gym. I have even offered to let them walk alone this year, but I got turned down in that area! I am sure it will come but for now I was just worried how the first day would actually go.............
After I picked them up from school today I was almost feeling guilty that I really did not miss the fighting that had been going on for the past week.
The pure excitement in their voices was music to my ears.
Jax loves his teacher and realizes he is so lucky and that she is absolutely wonderful! Brinkley, was extrememly upset that she was not in her friend Ali's class this year. She would have been had I not butted in but it has turned out to Brinkley's advantage and she is so happy that she has Mrs. Mendoza.
I actually cried that they were so happy this year. Jax had a rough start last year so my heart was just so full that this is going to be a wonderful year for them.
Now on to getting Pudgie man ready for school next week!
